M.A. (Anthropology)

About the Programme :

The M.A. (Anthropology) programme offered by Department of Anthropology and Tribal Studies, is a full time programme spanning across four (4) academic semesters, each of six (6) months duration.

Admission Notification :

Notification for admission to M.A. (Anthropology) programme is usually flashed in the month of March/April every year.

Eligibility Criteria :

A candidate seeking admission to M.A. (Anthropology) programme must possess Bachelor Degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized Indian or foreign University, with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade/CGPA.

The same for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (non-creamy layer) and Divyang (differently abled) candidates is 45% or equivalent grade/CGPA. 

There is no age bar for pursuing the programme.

Candidates appearing in the final year examination of bachelor degree or those waiting for result are also eligible to apply. However, if such a candidate secures seat, his/her admission shall be provisional and will be confirmed only when all prerequisites for admission are fulfilled on the day of admission or within the stipulated time frame as decided by the University.

Number of Seats :

The total number of seats in M.A. (Anthropology) programme is currently  TWENTY ONE (21).

The concurrent reservation rules as mandated by the Government of India/University Grants Commission (UGC), shall be applied accordingly.

Admission Entrance Test :

Admission to the programme is made purely on the basis of candidate’s performance in Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).

Entrance Test Centres :

CUET is conducted across the length and breadth of India.
